Duino Open Day 2011

Like last year we talked with local people about SEED's projects for the coming summer, raised funds, awareness, and shared cake with people.  :)

Focus 2011: Introducing this year's summer projects!

On Sunday, January 30, a one‐hour‐long Focus about the EIGHT projects for this summer was presented by the project organizers.  There was a lot of information to take in, but the excitement and anticipation in the room was tangible, along with the energy of students afterwards discussing projects, ideas, and how we can find success this summer.

Duino Open Day 2010

At the College's Open Day students participating in each SEED project presented information about their project to local community members attending the event.  Students also collected donations for the various projects.

"Primavera a Duino" 2009

Our first group project was a fundraising concert based in Duino at UWCAD. The concert featured many UWC students as well as some local musicians. In part, the aim was to develop the group’s teamwork, before the trip to Thailand. The money raised went to various organizations within Thailand, either directly, or in the form of school supplies, or other materials. 

Focus 2009: "The Sex Market and its Victims in Thailand"

The Focus is weekly presentation at UWCAD, meant to inform the local UWC population of current situations in the various parts of the world. The group focused on this one aspect of Thai society because it effectively integrates many sectors and concerns within the society - poverty, HIV/AIDS, education, health, etc. We believe it is important to share the knowledge we have gained with our local community as well as intrigue the local community to becomeinvolved in future projects.
