The Basics:

SEED (Student Engagement in Education for Development) is a student led organization that co-ordinates and organizes student led volunteering projects in various countries.  It is part of the volunteering organization Mondo 2000 based in Friuli Venezia-Giulia, Italy.  SEED was founded in 2009 by students from the United World College of the Adriatic, after having organized and carried out their own volunteering project in Thailand.  It was founded out of a motivation to pass on their experience and to create an initiative that would last for the future.
SEED is intended to enable students to engage with other young people from different parts of the world in order to start a mutual learning process that can help them to develop themselves as well as their local communities.  The main aim of SEED is to promote education worldwide with a strong focus on "learning from each other", while always keeping in mind the importance of intercultural exchange.
